Red Alert issued: Cyclone warning issued in these areas of Maharashtra and Gujarat

A severe cyclonic storm 'Nisarg' formed in the East Central Arabian Sea has moved north-east at a speed of 13 km per hour in the last 06 hours and today i.e. 03 June 2020 at 08:30 hrs 130 km south-south of Alibag (Maharashtra). -West 170 km south-southwest of Mumbai (Maharashtra) and 400 km south-southwest of Surat (Gujarat) in east-central Arabian Sea at 17.6 ° N latitude and 72.3 ° E longitude.

Today i.e. on the afternoon of 03rd June there is a strong possibility of passing north-northeast and passing south of Alibag (Raigad district, Maharashtra) off the coast of North Maharashtra as the maximum wind speed in a severe cyclonic storm is a steady 100-110 km per hour and it Can increase to 120 km per hour. The cyclone is being monitored with the help of Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) in Mumbai (Maharashtra) and Goa.

Light to moderate rains in most parts of North Konkan (Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Raigad district) and North Central Maharashtra in the next 24 hours and heavy to very heavy in some places while some scattered areas are likely to receive heavy rains (≥ 20 cm in 24 hours). .
